Welcome to Berryville, a town that blends the best of small-town life with a rich history and an exciting future.
Our town, with a population of 5300 and growing, is located at the center of Carroll County. Beaver Lake is not far to the west and Table Rock Lake is a short drive north.
Berryville is the center for shopping, employment, and government for people from Green Forest to the east, and Kingston to the south.
Berryville's information center sits on the east side of town, on US 62. A city-operated RV park nestles nearby in a pretty hollow - complete with a wooded stream nearby.
Located in the Ozark Mountains of NW Arkansas, we're approximately 45 miles south of Branson, MO and only 10 miles east of the Victorian town of Eureka Springs. Harrison is roughly 30 minutes to the east on US 62.
Tourists traveling between Branson and Eureka Springs stop to catch their breath and take a needed break in Berryville. Others come here looking for a home, a comfortable place to raise a family, or a pleasant place to retire.
We're home to the Carroll County Airport, the Carroll County Fairgrounds and Mercy Hospital.
Our population is served by public schools K-12, and Tyson Foods is our largest single employer.
The center of town is an old-fashioned square, where you can "set a spell" and soak up the historic feeling of Berryville, or shop the streets around the square for books, antiques, thrift store treasures, or a good meal.
The Heritage Center Museum, located right on the town square, was once the Carroll County Courthouse, and houses three floors of fascinating artifacts from early Indian times, pioneer years, and life in the early 1900s. The original courtroom on the top floor was left intact, and is an interesting piece of local history.
If you're interested in genealogy, and have family connections to this part of Arkansas, the Carroll County Historical and Genealogical Society is housed on the first floor, and has extensive archives you may search for your ancestors.
We're also the home of the internationally known Saunders Museum, where you may view the extensive historic gun collection from the frontier period.
And while we're steeped in history, we enjoy our modern recreation center where locals and visitors alike can shake off the cobwebs. Visitors can obtain a one-day pass to use the exercise room, the indoor track and the pool.
Country music shows, golf, Arkansas Razorback games, hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking and more are all accessible in under an hour.
Come as a visitor or come as a new neighbor: you'll enjoy the pace of life in Berryville.
